Call for abstracts and work in progress

Scientific communications

There are different types of scientific communications at SESAM 2010:

  • oral presentations
  • poster sessions
  • workshops

They are likely to include one or more of the following topics:

  • Process analysis, development and optimalization through Simulation
  • Expertise through simulation: the role of psychology and education
  • Simulation curricula in medical training
  • Assessment and Evaluation
  • Research and new insights in CRM
  • Multi-disciplinary Simulation
  • New Simulation tools to enhance realism
  • Physiology and Pharmacology

Additional topic areas relating to simulation are welcome.

The conference language is English. Keep in mind that there will be a range of people for whom English is not their first language.

Posters

Measurements of the poster (widthXheight) : 1mX1.2m

Authors are responsible for the mounting of their poster on the first day of the symposium. Fixation material will be provided.

Prizes

There will be three scientific prices (€ 250,-) awarded: the best poster, the best oral presentation and the best workshop. The winners will be chosen by the scientific committee and the results will be presented during the closing ceremony on the last day of the meeting.

Eligibility

All presenting authors must register and pay for attendance of the meeting.

 

Abstract submission

Abstracts can be submitted for any of the presentation forms (oral, poster, workshop) at sesam2010@umcg.nl until March 15, 2010. Only submission by using one of the registration formats will be accepted. All submissions will be peer reviewed.

Guidelines

Content

  • Consider the relevance of your proposal to a European audience
  • Be as explicit as possible about the content of your scientific presentation / work in progress
  • Identify up to four key words that are relevant to your submission
  • Include any evaluation or assessment of your work in your submission even if this is on-going

Submission

  • Tables and graphs: do not include more than one graph or table (with letters and digits that are legible after downsizing to 8cm wide)
  • References should be listed
  • Abbreviations should be avoided and if used, explained. No abbreviations may be used in the title
  • Instruments and appliances: When listing instruments or appliances, also list the manufacturer, the place of business and the country of origin

Notification

You will receive notification of selection of your abstract by April 15, 2010. All accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract book. Your abstract might be published in Simulation in Health Care, if you do not explicitly state otherwise. Acceptance of your abstract does not guarantee journal publication. Publication of the abstract requires registration for the meeting by at least one author.
